  • Furikake (Japanese rice seasoning): Adds plenty of amazing flavor to the sushi bake, don’t leave this out!
  • Soy sauce
  • Japanese rice: You’ll want to use Japanese rice for this.
  • Rice Vinegar: For use in the making of our own sushi rice.
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Seaweed wraps: For holding all the ingredients together.
  • Avocado

How To Make Salmon And Shrimp Sushi Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Combine the ingredients for the sushi bake mixture.

Make the sushi rice and add it to a baking dish.

Top the sushi rice with the sushi bake mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Salmon and Shrimp Sushi Bake Recipe

This Salmon and Shrimp Sushi Bake is an easy crowd-pleaser with fantastic flavors that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Sushi Mixture

  • 1 lb salmon - deboned, cooked, and forked apart
  • ½ lb shrimp, - deveined, cooked, peeled, and chopped
  • ½ cup Japanese mayonnaise (we used Kewpie)
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp tobiko (fish roe) (plus more for topping)
  • 1 tbsp furikake (plus more for topping)
  • ½ tsp soy sauce
  • scallions, chopped (optional)

Sushi Rice:

  • 1 cup Japanese rice, cooked
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Sides:

  • seaweed wraps
  • 1-2 avocado, sliced
  • 1-2 cucumber, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add cooked salmon, shrimp, mayonnaise, sriracha, sesame oil, tobiko, furikake, soy sauce, and scallions (if using). Combine well and set aside.
  3. Add cooked rice, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to a baking dish. Combine well and mix evenly before spreading across the entire baking dish. Take care not to mash the rice and try to move the rice along the baking dish instead.
  4. Top the sushi rice with the salmon and shrimp mixture evenly. Bake for 15 minutes. Once baked, top with additional furikake and tobiko.
  5. Serve immediately with seaweed wraps, sliced avocado, and sliced cucumbers. Take a seaweed wrap and scoop some of the sushi bake before adding the avocado and cucumbers. Stuff it into your mouth and enjoy!
